Karmyn was crowned Miss Louisiana winning both preliminary swimsuit and talent awards. At the 1996 Miss America Pageant, she received a talent award for her operatic performance of the aria Tu che di gel sei cinta from Puccini’s opera Turandot.

Karmyn has performed in several musical productions and completed her first equity role in the Casa Mañana production of Camelot in Fort Worth, Texas. She holds two Fine Arts degrees in music and drama as well as a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Science degree in Administrative Leadership from Texas A& M University.

Karmyn is a certified Miss America Preliminary judge and judged Miss Louisiana, 2002, Miss Teen Texas 2005 selecting the first Miss Teen Texas to become Miss Outstanding Teen of America.

She is a professional singer and actress and has performed in numerous theatre and film productions. She has appeared on Walker, Texas Ranger; Ed McMahon’s Star Search, Just Shoot Me and a backup singer and dancer in the Ty Herndon Music Video “STEAM”. She also costars with Mark Collie in the movie Alabama Love Story filmed in Alabama and appeared with Danica McKellar in Inspector Mom on the Lifetime Movie Network.
