http://cdbaby.com/cd/daviddeal I have completed production of the concept album entitled Transformations, which is both a spiritual autobiography and hopefully, a spiritual vessel. Transformations makes use of Jazz, Rock, Broadway and Progressive Rock mediums in a format which attempts to honestly express intense spiritual/emotional experiences spanning a lifetime. They are meant to be heard sequentially for full effect. I enjoy writing songs which emanate from the deeper recesses of the universal human mind. Transformations Cover Message: "Sometimes, in the midst of a perfectly ordinary day, one is unexpectedly flooded by the magnificence of "what is." Perhaps that moment of awareness and clarity arrives while watching a storm or absorbing a piece of art or kneeling with intention in a church. If blessed, echoes of the past and visions of the future fade from existence as the unknowing silence of the infinite present emerges. | This song is based on a poem written by a 16th century, Spanish monk named "St. John of the Cross". His writings are often cited as being foundational to the pursuit of "Christian Mysticism". This song refers to the ecstasy experienced when one gives up all thoughts, beliefs, attachments etc. and is touched by "God". This song is meant to be played LOUD! Enjoy |
